Kristina Brimer
Who Am I?
Hello, my name is Kristina Brimer. I hold a teaching certificate from Washington DC in middle school science as well general science for high school. In addition to the American teaching license, I have also been awarded a QTS for both a primary and secondary science teacher.
I grew up in Lawrenceville, GA, and traveled extensively around the USA as a young child. My granddaddy taught me that you can only truly learn if you experience multiple different things. When I was in 6th grade I was nominated by a teacher to join People to People International and became a student ambassador traveling to Europe and Australia/New Zealand. As a result, I was bit by the travel bug.
I have traveled to over 40 different countries and have called 4 different countries home. In doing so, I have experienced numerous different cultures. My favorites things to experience when traveling are anything off the beaten path and local food! I enjoy exploring the authentic parts that tourists often miss.

Outside the classroom, I can be spotted surrounded by animals. We have a zoo of animals at the house and rescue others in need. As a family, we can often be found volunteering with the local animal shelter. Giving back to the less fortunate animals is a passion that my whole family shares.
If I am not with the domesticated animals, I can be found under the water scuba diving. Being deep in the Mediterranean Sea or the Red Sea has an amazing way to calm a soul. Swimming with the Loggerhead sea turtles and the Dugongs is an amazing adventure.
Simplicity in life is what helps me feel balanced. From renting an AirB&B in Hua Hin, Thailand to enjoying life in the middle of Mardi Gras. I have been blessed with a husband who loves traveling and experiencing life as much as me. He can be ready for an adventure in the spur of the moment.

Science has always been a passion for me and something that I have always wanted to share with others. I started my teaching career in Cairo, Egypt then moved to Sierra Leone, West Africa I then returned to Egypt and later immigrated with my husband to New Orleans, LA. I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by supportive and enthusiastic teachers that have a true passion for their subjects. I have been hired at several schools to help re-design their curriculum and push their students to be forward thinkers.
Transitioning from a K-12 setting to higher education was a passion that I have been able to fulfill working with Moreland University. In my position as an instructor, I focus on facilitating engaging and meaningful discussions which lead to a deeper level of understanding of strategies and methods that need to be implemented in order to create an inclusive classroom. As a virtual mentor, I have the opportunity to work intimately with candidates that are in the classroom providing feedback from lesson planning to classroom management. MU has also provided me with the opportunity to continue with curriculum development for their program by designing innovative and rigorous assignments that help prepare teachers for the ever-changing future.
